This Gears of War 2 guide will show you all available codes, cheats and help with unlocking modes, maps & skins, and get achievement points of the Xbox 360-exclusive third-person shooter game. Time to show those Locust who’s boss!

Let’s start with unlocking an additional difficulty setting for the main campaign: when you’ve finished the game once on any difficulty level, you unlock the Insane difficulty mode.

Did you know your copy of Gears of War 2 comes with a code for the free Flashback Map Pack? Yes, it does. Check on the inside, behind the Gears of War 2 manual on a separate piece of paper you’ll find a scratch card with a code that unlocks five maps. Those five favorite multiplayer maps from the original Gears of War have been updated and made available to download and play in Gears of War 2. To download the Flashback Map Pack you’ll first off obviously need an Xbox Live Silver or Gold membership, and be signed in to Xbox Live from the Xbox 360 Dashboard. From there you select Xbox Live Marketplace, then select Redeem Code when prompted, enter your code, and your download will be waiting for you. — On the same scratch card is a claim code that gives you 48 hours of Xbox Live Gold membership, so you can try out the online multiplayer modes in Gears of War 2 for free.

Gears of War 2 Limited Edition on Xbox 360If you buy the Gears of War 2 Limited Edition, it comes with an exclusive Xbox Live code that you can use once to unlock a gold-plated Lancer Assault Rifle for in-game online play. Enter the code the same way you did the (above mentioned) Flashback Map Pack code. After the download is complete, the Golden Lancer becomes available in all multiplayer modes including Horde and Training.

There are rumored to be 8 golden AK-47 guns hidden around the huge map of Far Cry 2. As the linked map shows, here’s one place to get one. Supposedly the Gold AK’s NEVER wear down or jam.

This video shows one golden AK-47 location:

Get the special machetes: Start the game with a connection to Xbox Live. At the main menu, select the Additional Content option. Choose the Exclusive Content selection, then login with your Ubisoft account information or create a new account. After the game connects to the Ubisoft servers to verify your information, the message “Account linking complete! Thank you for linking your Ubisoft account to your Xbox Live Gamertag. Special Machete. Unlock Special Machete” will appear.

This video shows the unlockable machetes:

Then press A to unlock the special machete. The message “The exclusive content was successfully unlocked” will appear. Return to the main menu. Select Options, then select Game. A new Machete Type option will appear. You now have access to the Homemade/Modern and Primitive machetes on the current profile. 480p on the Dreamcast

Dreamcast in 480p

Microsoft would like us to think of Xbox 360 as the worlds first high-definition console, but the Dreamcast was ahead of the game when it comes to High-Def support. A large majority of Sega Dreamcast games have 480p Support.

Just have a look at this list. Want to play Sonic Adventure in 480p? How about Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2? Maybe a little Toy Commander? Well, there are a few ways to go about doing this.

The first method is simple: VGA. If your HD-TV supports the Dreamcast VGA cord, you’re set. If it doesn’t, you could always use a computer monitor to play on. That’s how I used to play most of my Dreamcast games…in the before time…

The second option still requires a VGA cord, but you’re also going to need what’s called a VGA to Component Transcoder. What a Transcoder does is convert a VGA signal to be displayed on on an Y-Pr-Pb HD-Video Cord, which is called a component cable. They are a little pricey, but if you want to play your Dreamcast in sweet, sweet 640×480 interlaced resolution on a HD-TV with no VGA input, that’s your best bet. It also may be possible to use a VGA to Component cable. Either way, a Dreamcast VGA Box is required.

The list above isn’t complete, however, since I can personally vouch for Dreamstudio working with the VGA cord. Maybe anyone with a VGA cord can help this site make a more complete list.

Help a Sega Nerd out, huh?

Hints/Cheats: Dead or Alive 2 (Dreamcast)

Source: seganerds.com

DoA2

The Dreamcast only received Tecmo’s jiggle fest, Dead or Alive, only one time, which is pretty sad. But it is one of the better 3D fighters on the system. And after all these years, you’re still having problems with it or want to add a bit of replayability to this game, then check out these cheats.

Original Opening Sequence
Set your age to 21 in the Game Options Menu. Then, make a ranking in Survival Mode in any position and put in REALDEMO as a name. Save the game with the new ranking and you will be able to set the age to any number.

3D Character Preview
At the Vs. Mode screen, disable the Quick Selector option to view fighters in 3D at the Character Selection screen.

Taunt Opponent
Press one of the following combinations to taunt your opponent: 1) Left, Right, Left, R; 2) Right, Left, Right, R; 3) Down, Down, R; 4)Back, Back, R.

View Kasumi’s Extra Costume
Select Story Mode and choose Kasumi’s 3rd, pink costume. Now play until you fight against yourself and you’ll notice that the CPU Kasumi is wearing a black costume instead of the normal pink costume.

Firefly Level
In Vs. Mode, choose Arial Garden with the Right Trigger.

Age Factor
In the Options Menu, the higher the age you enter, the more bouncier the girls are.

Control Camera
During your victory pose, hold B and use either control pad to rotate the camera around your character.
Get Schoolgirl Outfits
At the TECMO intro screen (Press Start screen), press X + Y + Start to get schoolgirl outfits for Ayane and Kasumi.

Bonus Art
Insert your Dead Or Alive 2 game disc into a PC’s CD-Rom drive. Then look in the Bonus directory to find several images.
