To quote the video review: “SOCOM Confrontation is a fairly safe bet, if all you’re looking for is a by-the-numbers online tactical shooter. Without a single player campaign to add some flavor, the game does come off as kind of generic. But it plays well and perhaps most importantly; there are a lot of other people playing online. If networked competition is your thing, SOCOM Confrontation is worth a look.”

Metal Gear Acid 3 possible on PlayStation Network says Hideo Kojima

Source: videogamesblogger.com

Metal Gear Acid 2 for PSPMetal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima said in a recent Leipzig Games Con 2008 interview that it’s possible the Metal Gear Acid games could end up continuing on the PlayStation Network, even though nothing is in production at the moment.

About the turn-based strategy PSP series coming to the PS3’s PSN he said: “I’ll say yes to that idea, but not because it is already running or anything. I’m just saying yes because it’s possible, I think it is possible. Sorry to say we don’t have specific plans at the moment, but it is possible, yes.”

From the days of old, Melodica was a land of music, a land of freedom. The people sang, played and danced to the music they so cherished. Until one day, they came— the Mechanoids, who enhanced their bodies with machinery. Those who were tempted by greed and power willingly gave away their souls for bodies of steel, forsaking their humanity to become cold, emotionless automatons. Now, they seek to destroy all that do not embrace their way of life.

But there is hope on the horizon. There are those who are fated to stand against the tyranny of the machines— the Superstars, who can turn sound into lethal weapons, and the Conductor, also known as the Song Summoner, who can summon powerful warriors born of music. In their most desperate hour, Melodica awaits the arrival of their new Song Summoner…

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 co-op info and new trailer

Source: videogamesblogger.com

Pre-order Rainbow Six Vegas 2 for Xbox 360The developers at Ubisoft have geared Rainbow Six Vegas 2 towards co-op play from the start. In co-op, players will now be able to experience the full single-player campaign, whereas the previous game skipped several cut-scenes and all of the in-game media. As a consequence, however, the co-op experience has been reduced to a maximum of two players, down from four in the first Rainbow Six Vegas. Unlike the co-op mode in the original Rainbow Six: Vegas, the AI teammates will remain in the game during co-op and can be given orders and go-codes by Player 1. Another advantage is that a second player can join in a campaign game at any time to help out and earn the same achievements as player one, like you can in Gears of War.

As for the multiplayer maps, Ubisoft is focusing on more intimate maps. To quote an IGN interview: “Bigger maps don’t necessarily mean they are better. However, we do offer both bigger and smaller sized maps in RSV2. Our objective was to balance all the maps as best as possible by making more intense firefight zones. In an MP map, you want to be able to find enemies instead of spending all your time wandering around the landscape. There’s still plenty of room to maneuver and approach your objective from different paths. In addition, one way Rainbow Six differentiates itself from other shooters is through close quarter battles.”

The Rainbow Six squad has their work cut out for them in this hostage rescue. Watch the new Rainbow Six Vegas 2 trailer.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 will be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on March 11th, 2008.
