Out of the complete Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe cast, 14 characters have been revealed like Sub-Zero and Batman, but we thought it was time to list the MK vs. DC characters below that have been confirmed for the upcoming November 10th, 2008, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 fighting game.

When you click on each Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe character’s name below, a window will pop up with a big picture of him / her.

The list of playable characters in alphabetical order:

1. Batman (from DC Comics)
2. Captain Marvel AKA Shazam or Captain Thunder (from DC Comics)
3. Catwoman (from DC Comics)
4. Green Lantern (from DC Comics)
5. Jax (from Mortal Kombat)
6. Kitana (from Mortal Kombat)
7. Liu Kang (from Mortal Kombat)
8. Scorpion (from Mortal Kombat)
9. Shang Tsung (from Mortal Kombat)
10. Sonya Blade (from Mortal Kombat)
11. Sub-Zero (from Mortal Kombat)
12. Superman (from DC Comics)
13. The Flash (from DC Comics)
14. The Joker (from DC Comics)

Unannounced but popular characters from both sides:

* Brainiac (from DC Comics)
* Goro (from Mortal Kombat)
* Green Arrow (from DC Comics)
* Johnny Cage (from Mortal Kombat)
* Martian Manhunter (from DC Comics)
* Raiden (from Mortal Kombat)
* Reptile (from Mortal Kombat)
* Shao Kahn (from Mortal Kombat)
* Wonder Woman (from DC Comics)
* What others do you think are missing?

Pre-order Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe for Xbox 360The way these characters are put together in the story mode is rather simple. Depending on which side players choose (Mortal Kombat or DC Universe), they will see the characters from the opposite universe as the invaders of their own universe. This leads to unlikely alliances being forged on each side, but does this blind rage stop them from seeing the dark threat that merged the two universes and is set to destroy them all?

Characters that are normally super powerful have been toned down to make them balanced within the game, for example: Superman no longer as invulnerable as he usually is, so he can be hurt by Scorpion’s spear. This further expresses itself during fights, where characters will show permanent signs of damage like: bruises, blood marks, and broken or torn clothing pieces.

Creator Ed Boon gives a gameplay demonstration:

This list gets updated as more characters are confirmed.
