Electronic Arts has released the music video “Still Alive”, the Mirror’s Edge theme performed by Lisa Miskovsky. A Swedish rock/pop star who looks stunning in this absolutely drop-dead gorgeous video as she sings along a rooftop with the world shattering around her.

I personally think that this song and the accompanying music video is done so well that it could be a major hit on MTV and VH1 if it got some airplay. It’ll be interesting to see if that will happen, because if it does, then it’ll be a first for the video game industry to have a hit music video (at least, I’m pretty sure it would be the first). Which would be a major win for video games as a whole. I also love how upbeat and joyful this video is.

Recorded exclusively for Mirror’s Edge (available as part of the Mirror’s Edge Soundtrack), “Still Alive” was written and produced by Rami Yacoub and Arnthor Birgisson who are best known for their chart-topping work with artists Pink, Britney Spears and Kelis. The song was performed by Lisa Miskovsky who earned international acclaim for her #1 self-titled debut album and #1 Platinum follow-up Fallwater. She also won Sweden’s top music awards including Best New Artist, Best Female Artist and Artist of the Year.

Ready to rock the James Bond 007: Quantum of Solace theme in your Guitar Hero World Tour?!

Thanks to Activision you can, as the new theme from the upcoming movie (which hits theaters here in the US on November 14th) is available now for you to download and play to your hearts content!

The theme is called “Another Way to Die” and is a duet by Jack White and Alicia Keys, which marks the first time a Bond theme is a duet, and treads on mature new Bond-theme ground due to it’s insane fusion of jazz, rap, hip-hop and rock.

The track is up now and costs 160 Microsoft Points ($2.00) or $1.99 from the PlayStation Store.

Guitar Hero 4: World Tour delivers more ways to play than ever before. Virtual musicians can live out their rock and roll fantasies by playing either a single instrument, or any combination of instruments, in addition to the full band experience.

In addition to all of the online gameplay modes from Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock, Guitar Hero World Tour introduces Battle of the Bands mode which allows eight players to join online and challenge each other band-to-band to determine who is the best of the best. In the Band modes, up to four players can jam together, online or off, as they progress through the game, and in single-player Career Mode, players can jam on any of the instruments in branching venue progression enabling them to rock out in the order of their choice.

To quote the IGN video review: “Guitar Hero World Tour is a fun title, to be sure, but it’s also a disappointment in a lot of respects. A number of things it tries to accomplish were already done better in Rock Band, which you might figure would have provided a simple blueprint to be followed and expanded upon, but that’s not the case. The music creation tools are a great idea in theory, but the end result isn’t as robust as I would have hoped it would be, both in terms of abilities as well as the songs that come out the other end. The game does have a good bit going for it and can serve to act as a stepping-off point for next year’s game, whatever form that might take.”
