Fable 2 Video Diary Ep. 4: World Design

Fable 2 is still being molded up at Lionhead Studio’s and what better way to remind all of us that it still exist than a video diary. This one is about world design. If only Peter Molyneux’s trance inducing voice could guarantee that he and his team won’t bite more than they can chew this time around. Check out the video after the break or head on over to for this video and/or the first three if you haven’t already seen them.

Channel 10 speaks with the designer of the original Xbox

The original Xbox was often criticized for being nothing more than a big black box. Something that most of the Japanese world has taken to heart even now, considering the fact that its successor was designed with an attempt to appeal more to their taste. Japan aside, the big black box connotations garnered by the Xbox had a lot of thought behind them.

Luckily, Laura Foy of Channel 10 (formerly of Pseudo/G4 fame)  sat down with design firm Teague to talk a little bit about the original concept for what we now know as Xbox. The Xbox 360 racing wheel is also designed by Teague and also talked about. Fire jokes non permitting, the amount of thought and fore site that goes into many of the products that so many of use become so attached to is something that no one ever thinks about, so it’s nice to see the other side of the equation.

Signed PGR 3 plague and limited edition faceplate looks sweet!

The Xbox Collector posted this nice looking piece of gaming history. The first is a plaque by the bizarre creations team who worked on PGR3 and the other is a limited edition faceplate of the game.

This plaque/faceplate combo was recently sold through Ebay but it looked so nice I had to share. Hopefully the PGR4 team will do something like this.

Halo 3 Beta European sign-ups are being abused

News from Britbox has surfaced about a XCN (Xbox Community Network) member site possibly breaking the trust of Microsoft and Bungie by selling the beta codes they have been intrusted to issue out to the European Xbox community. A email from XCN management has been sent out to warn the offending site of there impending removal from the XCN once they have been identified.

‘If your site is found to be one of the offenders you will not receive any beta codes and will be removed from the XCN with immediate effect. We will also ensure that Microsoft will no longer have any involvement with your site’.

Unlike in North America where the beta sign-up process was handled by Bungie, the European sign-up process was intrusted to XCN member sites. If true this may end up putting a black eye on the entire network of sites in general.
