Guerrilla Games just posted an update on the official blog pertaining to the upcoming “Patch 1.28″, which is set to be released Tuesday, July 14th at 8AM GMT worldwide (for those of us in the states, that 12AM Pacific). When the patch is released, the servers will be down for testing and whatnot to make sure everything is stable, so keep that in mind. Here’s a few of the patch changes/additions/fixes:
Feature – Detailed information screen when browsing games. Items displayed include: Friendly Fire, Faction Balancing, Custom Weapons and Custom Badges as well as the region, game size, selected maps and allowed Missions and Badges.
Feature – Higher values for Bodycount mode. Players can now create games with 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 50, 100 and 200 points to increase the time of the mode for 32 player games.
Feature – Moderators can now create double-points events.
New loading screens.
Fix for network error displayed when trying to log in with another users account.
Exploit – Radec Academy collision fix to prevent players being revived inside a pillar and using it to their advantage.
As far as the DLC goes, not too much has been released on that except for a few tidbits from the update and the maps’ names. It’s called “Napalm & Cordite”, which includes the two new maps“Suljeva Cliffside” and “Arctower Landing”. Additional details about the new DLC pack will be made public next week.
Ubisoft has revealed a new downloadable content pack for Far Cry 2 dubbed the Fortune’s Pack that will be released for Xbox 360 and PS3 by the end of the month (apparently this pack is console only).
The pack will add three new weapons: the sawed off shotgun, silenced shotgun and crossbow, four new multiplayer maps: Cheap Labor, Last Resort, Lake Smear and Fort Fury. And at least two new vehicles, a quad and the “unimog”. The weapons will be available in both multiplayer as well as single player.
There was no price tag revealed, but the Fortune’s Pack probably won’t be free.

Let’s start with unlocking an additional difficulty setting for the main campaign: when you’ve finished the game once on any difficulty level, you unlock the Insane difficulty mode.
Did you know your copy of Gears of War 2 comes with a code for the free Flashback Map Pack? Yes, it does. If you buy the Gears of War 2 Limited Edition, it comes with an exclusive Xbox Live code that you can use once to unlock a gold-plated Lancer Assault Rifle for in-game online play. Enter the code the same way you did the (above mentioned) Flashback Map Pack code. After the download is complete, the Golden Lancer becomes available in all multiplayer modes including Horde and Training.

Electronic Arts just put the first free Army of Two maps online for download via the Xbox 360’s Xbox Live Marketplace and the PS3’s PlayStation Network. Players of the 3rd person co-op shooter can extend their Army of Two experience with two brand new co-op campaign maps and an enhanced multiplayer map that offers more opportunities to show that a two-man team can be unstoppable. The free Veteran Map Pack, sponsored by Pontiac, is available now in North America and Europe.
Players will experience an all-new map as they find themselves underground in a subway station in Kiev where they must find and destroy the central hub of a dangerous militia. The second map takes players back to SSC headquarters in Miami where they finally get the chance to take out Dalton, Rios and Salem’s ex-boss and the man responsible for framing them, in an intense boss fight where the glory of revenge is finally felt. The Veteran Map Pack features dynamic and interactive environments including destructible objects that were not available in the retail version. The action also continues online with two-on-two teams battling it out in the China Canal Lock map.
Back in April EA released some paid downloadable content in the shape of the Army of Two SSC Challenge mode and maps at a price of $7.50 in North America and €4.75 and £3.80 in Europe.
Calling all private military contractors! Electronic Arts announced that its 3rd person co-op shooter, Army of Two, is expanding its two-man combat experience by releasing the new Security and Strategy Corporation (SSC) Challenge mode and maps. The unique SSC Challenge mode has two teams of two competing in an intense obstacle course for the chance to join the SSC, the Private Military Corporation in Army of Two. The new map pack will be available on April 24 in North America and Europe on Xbox LIVE Marketplace. The downloadable content will also come to the PlayStation Store on April 24 in North America and May 2008 in Europe. The SSC Challenge mode and maps will be available for $7.50 in North America and €4.75 and £3.80 in Europe.
Intertwined with Army of Two’s over-the-top combat, feverish action and challenging obstacle courses, players will work as a team to race to the finish in the four new co-op maps. The team that completes the course with the most cash will be crowned the ultimate two-man military outfit.
“We want to support our fans with new content that delivers on the two-man gameplay but with a unique twist,” says Alain Tascan, VP and General Manager of EA Montreal and Executive Producer of Army of Two. “The SSC Challenge gives players a chance to test their skills in a different setting while retaining the action packed co-op intensity that gamers have come to expect in Army of Two.”
Speaking of Gears of War don’t forget(like you would) to download those 2 new multiplayer maps(Old Bones + Raven Down) and that free theme which looks pretty sweet.
