Marvel Costumes Coming to LittleBigPlanet

Apparently, this concept art had been spotted at Comic-Con, showing little Wolverine, Iron Man, and Captain America Sack Boys. No word on when it will be released or whether or not it’s just those three or part of a larger pack. In any case, both IGN and Kotaku suspect that the costume pack will most likely coincide with the release of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. I think a Spider-Man and a Hulk costume should be included, as well as a whole slew of others. Imagine a Sack Hulk walking around with hands that look like those foam Hulk fists they sell in stores!

Turns out the Official PS Blog also posted this, with a few more bits of information:

Sony Computer Entertainment and Marvel Entertainment officially announced that they will be collaborating to create original LittleBigPlanet content based on the Marvel Universe. The news was revealed yesterday at Comic-Con International in San Diego during Marvel’s panel discussion highlighting the next generation of Marvel video games. To help illustrate what might be in store for fans, concept art of possible costumes were shown incorporating Iron Man, Wolverine and Captain America, however other characters will be considered.

In other words, this means that there will most likely be more than just these three. Cool.

Behind-the-Scenes at the Iron Man game

Iron Man game for Xbox 360Iron Man, one of Marvel’s most indestructible Super Heroes, blast onto videogame platforms with this adaptation of the big screen movie that’ll be in theaters everywhere from May 2nd, 2008. With the Iron Man game being released on the same day for Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii, PS2, PSP, and DS. It’s time to take an in-depth look at the making of Iron Man by developers Secret Level and Sega.

Saying that clothes make the man has never been more true than in the case of Tony Stark. Amongst others, Iron Man comicbook creator Stan Lee talks about the game. Watch Behind-the-Scenes: The Suit.

This new video features key members of the Secret Level development team talking about how they created the Iron Man game, and what inspired them.

Let’s go behind the scenes at Secret Level

In this fascinating behind-the-scenes video, Reeve Thompson, the vice president at Secret Level, and the rest of his team reveal some pretty interesting tidbits behind its newest title – Iron Man.

Thompson talks about Sega’s initial intentions when it purchased the once-independent company and several gameplay and design choices, most notably the fine tuning it has to do to get the flight, melee and ranged fighting down perfectly.

The more we see and hear about this game, the more I’m beginning to believe it might be one of the best licensed games to date.

Drool over new Iron Man trailers

After getting so many great original games and sequels the past couple months, the licensed games are now on the horizon. We’ll be seeing Happy Tree Friends, Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk in the not-too distant future.

From what we’ve seen of the three games, Iron Man looks like it will be the best yet, and these two new trailers lend credence to my completely baseless claim. Check them out - they’re super sexy.

Things look shiny as Sega release new Iron Man trailer

Sega recently released a brand spanking new trailer for the upcoming Iron Man game, and I have to say things are definitely looking up for the game.  The graphics all round have most definitely improved since the first videos we saw, Iron Man himself is looking very polished (literally) as he glimmers in the sunlight.

I’m also glad to see/hear Sega (finally) making use of Black Sabbath’s musical talents in this video. :)

The game will be available on the Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, DS, PSP, Playstation 3 and PC.

New Iron Man game trailer

GameTrailers recently put up the new trailer for the upcoming Iron Man game.

I have to say, the game is looking pretty damn cool.  The video uses voice overs from the movie (and I assume game too), as it shows off some great flight action, and some good looking closeups.

We saw some early tech-demo footage, a few months back, and the game looked kind of ok, but also pretty bland and boring.

Granted trailers are edited to make the product look better, but the game looks great in this new video, I’m really looking forward to seeing more of it.  The graphics have definitely been stepped up a notch over the previous video.

Sega boasts 5 new Iron Man screens

Iron Man

Sega has shown off five brand-new screenshots from their upcoming movie tie-in title, Iron Man.

It’s been a little while since we heard anything about the game, but by the looks of the screenshots, it is starting to look pretty cool. The game is definitely looking much improved graphically over the footage we saw earlier this year.

The images shown are from the Xbox 360 version of the game, though I’m sure the PS3 and PC versions of the game will look pretty much identical.
