It has been revealed that Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for the Nintendo DS will feature the entirety of Liberty City, except for the real-life New Jeresy.
In addition to Chinatown, the game features the full areas of Duke, Bohan, Broker and algonquin from Grand Theft Auto IV.
Also revealed by Spanish magazine Hispana is the ability to hail a cab by whistling/yelling into the DS’ built-in microphone and the obvious fact that the PDA, GPS and radio are all controlled by using the bottom touch-screen. And in addition to the highly controversial GTA: Chinatown Wars drug-selling mini-game, the magazine also reports that there will be “a good way to make money in the game.” Which can mean so many things I don’t even wanna think about it.
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2009 exclusively for Nintendo DS and is being developed by Rockstar Leeds and Rockstar North.
On November 17th 2008, Harmonix will release Rock Band Track Pack Volume 2 for the Wii, Xbox 360, PS3, and PS2. Like the first Rock Band Track Pack Volume 1, it is a standalone product that will add the 20 songs on the disc to your Rock Band or Rock Band 2 video game, for the price of $29.99.
Naturally, the track pack’s are primarily for those who do not have an Internet connection and thus are unable to download additional songs to their game. All the songs on the disc are Master Recordings of songs that were previously released as downloadable content on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network. And like with the AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack you will get a code that allows you to transfer the songs off the disc to either Rock Band 1 or Rock Band 2.

Guitar Hero World Tour is finally out and in the hands of those who want to rock and Wii owners should be happy to know that they finally are getting true downloadable content just like in the other versions of the game (and Guitar Hero 3 for other systems) and that includes downloadable songs!

Nintendo has released a new four-minute video that runs through all the features of the new Nintendo DSi. It’s basically a DS Lite vs DSi comparison but in video form.
It includes a very extensive look at all the crazy things you can do with pictures and videos, thanks to the DSi’s two built-in cameras and the SD Card slot. It shows how you can manipulate the photos and even do cool stuff like swapping the faces of two different people and the ability to change the colors of their clothes! I was surprised at the amount of things you can do, as it seems pretty high, much higher than what you got with the Wii’s Photo Channel.
The video also shows off the microphone and the new voice and music features, including the way you can manipulate your voice or the sound of music, making it deeper or higher pitched. You also get a look at the new menu system, among other things. Note that the video is entirely in Japanese.
The DSi has not yet been announced for American release, but it will be coming sometime next year, likely later rather than earlier.
Guitar Hero On Tour: Decades for the DS has a release date of November 16th, 2008 and will cost $50 for the game bundled with the guitar grip or $35 for the standalone game if you already bought Guitar Hero On Tour.
The below list is ordered by band name and followed by song title. You’ll notice they each link to a music video that will pop up in a new window for you to watch when you click on the link.

Each version of the Xbox 360 karaoke game Lips will have 40 songs in its playlist, spanning party-favourite genres and decades from artists such as Coldplay, Leona Lewis, Radiohead and Nirvana. With more songs planned to be released via downloadable content on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Plus, you can even plug in your MP3 player and sing along to your OWN music collection while a virtual music video accompanies your performance. Additionally, US retailers Gamestop and Amazon are offering 8 free songs to anyone who pre-orders Lips.
The game comes packaged with two wireless motion-sensitive microphones. This ties in with the features that allow you to compete against your friends or family and a co-operative element that allows you to try and crack the song together. Lips will hit stores in America on November 14th and in Europe on November 21st, 2008.

Tech Radar today has published “smart trickery to get more from your console,” listing seven things you might not have known your Wii was capable of. I especially like the indefinite blue pulse tip. Have any others to add to the list? Do share in the comments.

We thought it was time to make a Wii Music song list now that 35 of the 52-strong total soundtrack has been revealed.
We have compiled the list of so far revealed songs and included (in-game) videos, so you can get a good and full look at what you will be playing and improvising to when Wii Music hits store shelves on October 20th in the United States and November 13th and 14th in Australia and Europe (respectively).
Here’s the Wii Music songs list in alphabetical order:
The creator of Wii Music, Shigeru Miyamoto, had this to say about Wii Music in an interview: “Anyone can easily make a Mii, but you can also achieve some pretty fancy results. Wii Music is like that, but for music. There are 50 songs and 60 instruments to choose from. You can play six parts yourself, record your performances, play them back, and save them. So when it comes to long-time enjoyment for single players, I don’t think there’s any need to worry.”
Also, here’s a cat and dog band performing The Legend of Zelda theme on expert. Yes it’s awesome, really, hehe.
Activision has revealed the complete 86-track song list for Guitar Hero 4: World Tour. The set list is entirely made up of master recordings instead of cover versions. For the first time there will be other instruments to use besides the guitar, namely the microphone and drums to give a full band experience. The popular music-rhythm game will be released for Xbox 360, PS2, PS3 and Wii in America on October 26th, in Europe on November 7th, and in Australia on November 12th, 2008.
The below list is ordered by band name and followed by song title. You’ll notice they link to a video of the song itself or the song being played in the game (depending on availability), each video will pop up in a new window for you to watch when you click on the link.
Additionally, on the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii versions of the game you can download more songs. You’ll be able to find the downloadable content through the in-game store, which will include full albums, as you can see in the following list.
But that’s not all, in Advanced Studio mode on every version of the game you can create your own custom songs. Once you’ve made a song — you can add distortion plus guitar and drum effects — you can only share them with others using Xbox Live, PlayStation Network and Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. If you upload (up to five of) your songs to the GH Tunes service, other players will be able to download and rate them.
It took me many hours to make this list, so please enjoy.
Guilty Gear 2: Overture is a complete re-imagining of the Guilty Gear franchise that takes the series in some surprising directions and is expected for release in the U.S. on September 30th (set for fall 2008) for the Xbox 360.
The game is a mix of third-person action a la Devil May Cry 4 and real-time strategy (yes, RTS) elements as well as some other mixtures for something completely different than what fighting fans would expect from the Guilty Gear name. It’s also super fast paced and just as crazy as ever.
The game features troops that you can control in order to take points of a map or destroy that level (or your opponents, up to four in online multiplayer) Master Ghost unit.
There is a cast of six playable characters in Guilty Gear 2: Overture who are your “Commanders”. As well as two other characters featured in the game.
Click on the pictures of each character’s artwork (or name) below to see a much larger picture pop up.
Playable Characters:
1. Dr. Paradigm
Dr. Paradigm (voice actor: Yuji Mikimoto) is a sentient Gear that is styled after a Chinese dragon. He carries around a book of magic spells and along with some fellow Gears was sealed away in The Backyard so that Justice could not control him.
2. Izuna
Izuna (voice actor: Toru Furusawa) is a the spirit of a fox who was exiled from “The Backyard”, another plane of existence. Izuna first appears as a voice in Sol and Sin’s heads when they are attacked by a mysterious new enemy. He teaches Sol about the new enemy (which acts as the game’s tutorial) and later travels the lands with Sol and Sin.
3. Ky Kiske
Ky Kiske (voice actor: Takeshi Kusao) is Sol’s long-time rival. In Guilty Gear 2: Overture Ky has grown in his appearance since earlier games and he is now the King of Illyuria. In addition to having 3D versions of his attacks, he wields a new sword in this game.
4. Sin
Sin (voice actor: Issei Miyazaki) is a young man who accompanies Sol throughout the game. He battles with a flag and pole as his weapons of choice and is the son of Ky Kiske who fathered him with a female Gear. He is the target of Valentine due to the fact that he can be used a sthe Key due to his Gear cells. Sin doesn’t get along with his father Ky, but has a deep effection for his mother.
5. Sol Badguy
Sol Badguy (voice actor: George Nakata) is the main character of the Guilty Gear series and is a Gear prototype. In Guilty Gear 2: Overture, Sol Badguy has been given an all-new look, as well as 3D versions of some of his special attacks. You will see Sol’s Gear form when he confronts “That Man” (See “Other Characters” below).
6. Valentine
Valentine (voice actor: Chie Sawaguchi) is a young women who is dressed up as a Japanese “gothic lolita”. She speaks in a simple manner but battles with a balloon dubbed Lucifero. Valentine is looking for something called “The Key”. That key, as you read above, is the child of Justice who has married Ky Kiske and thus is the son of Ky: Sin, who has inherited his mother’s cells. Valentine is racing against That Man so she can reach an object that is only known as “The Cube”. And which can only be accessed by (what else?) The Key. Valentine is one of the main antagonists in the game.
Other Characters:
7. Raven
Raven (voice actor: Hiroki Yasumoto) is only one of three servants to That Man. Little is known about Raven, but he does share some kind of connection with Axl Low. A connection that “That Man” describes as being a “parallel existence” with one another. Raven became a playable character in the Japanese version of Guilty Gear 2: Overture on June 5th, 2008 due to an official patch released over Xbox Live. I would be that he will also appear as a playable character in the U.S. version from the get go.
8. That Man
That Man (voice actor: Tomokazu Sugita) is the shadowy figure of the Guilty Gear universe. His identity has remained a secret and no one truly knows who he is, except for his servant “I-no”. However everyone does know one thing about “That Man”, he is the “Gear Maker”. And in Guilty Gear 2: Overture, The Man is on hand to test the true extent of Sol Badguy’s abilities as a Gear.
Here is the latest trailer for Guilty Gear 2: Overture to give you a better idea of how the game plays.
