Ubisoft is offering a massive Far Cry 2 contest where you have a chance to win a copy of Far Cry 2 or an Intel Core i7-965 processor.
In order to win you need to answer “four simple questions” relating to Far Cry 2 or the Intel Core i7 processor correctly.
The Far Cry 2 contest runs from now until December 30th and you have a good chance of winning because Ubisoft is giving away a mind-boggling 50 copies of Far Cry 2 EACH DAY along with one Core i7-965 unit. So good luck!
Far Cry 2 is Ubisoft’s latest game in the open-world first-person shooter series where you are caught between two rival factions in war-torn Africa. You are tasked with taking out “The Jackal”, a mysterious character who has rekindled the conflict between the warlords, jeopardizing thousands of lives. In order to fulfill your mission you will have to play the factions against each other, identify and exploit their weaknesses, and neutralize their superior numbers and firepower with surprise, subversion, cunning and, of course, brute force.
The game immerses players with a custom-made video game engine built from the ground up. Players discover a true open world gameplay set in Africa, brought to life by high-definition next-gen technology and impressive fire physics that allow you to burn anything in your path.
Far Cry 2 is available now on Xbox 360, PS3 ($60) and PC ($50) and is rated M for Mature (Blood, Drug Reference, Intense Violence, Sexual Themes, Strong Language).

Ubisoft has revealed a new downloadable content pack for Far Cry 2 dubbed the Fortune’s Pack that will be released for Xbox 360 and PS3 by the end of the month (apparently this pack is console only).
The pack will add three new weapons: the sawed off shotgun, silenced shotgun and crossbow, four new multiplayer maps: Cheap Labor, Last Resort, Lake Smear and Fort Fury. And at least two new vehicles, a quad and the “unimog”. The weapons will be available in both multiplayer as well as single player.
There was no price tag revealed, but the Fortune’s Pack probably won’t be free.

The latest first-person shooter from Ubisoft, Far Cry 2, has done great for them, selling one million copies worldwide in just under three weeks across the three platforms the game was released on (Xbox, 360, PlayStation 3 and PC).
Which is always good news for publishers due to the economic slowdown and the fact that that there have been several huge releases vying for the wallets of gamers everywhere, including the likes of Gears of War 2, LittleBigPlanet, Fallout 3, Spore, Mirror’s Edge, Call of Duty: World at War and Resistance 2.
Far Cry 2 is the sequel to the original Far Cry (released way back in March of 2004) and this time is set in the planes of Africa with a new storyline, new characters and an open world complete with realistic fire that can burn anything in your path.
Far Cry 2 got pretty good reviews from video game publications and has a rating of around 86% for all versions on gamerankings.

Call of Duty: World at War will “beat” Gears of War 2, Resistance 2 and Far Cry 2 as this Christmas’ most sought after shooting game, says developer Treyarch and publisher Activision.
And while that is quite the arrogant statement, they really have gained the clout to say so, due to the fact that their last game, Call of Duty 4, is considered by many to be the best shooter of last year. And they certainly have the high sales figures to back up that statement, not to mention the critical acclaim (that game is scored in the low 90’s out of 100 percent across the three main platforms; Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, on gamerankings with 94% for the Xbox 360 version). Call of Duty 4 is also still the most played game on Xbox Live.
Activision’s senior producer Noah Heller, insists that fans of that game will not be disappointed with the follow-up. “There’s a lot of competition this year, but I feel very strongly we have the best shooter this Christmas. There is a lot of people new to the Call of Duty franchise following COD4, and they won’t be disappointed with Call of Duty: World at War. I’m looking forward to Gears of War, Far Cry and Resistance 2, and I’m sure they will be great games, but I am confident the consumer will come back to Call of Duty.”
However, Heller admits that following Modern Warfare has been a massive challenge for the firm.
“Along with the ‘why are you returning to World War II?’ questions, we’ve been asked ‘how are you possibly going to follow up COD4?’ And the answer to that question was not to focus on the previous game, but to make our own game on our own merits and our own strengths, and show people what we can do.”
Call of Duty: World at War will be released on Wii, PlayStation 2, PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Nintendo DS on November 14th.

Get the extra Far Cry 2 missions: At the main menu, go to the Additional Content option and click Sponsor/Promotional Code. Then enter one of these case-sensitive cheat codes: 6aPHuswe, 96CesuHu, or SpujeN7x, to unlock the Special Missions titled: The Georgian, The Bolivian, Special Delivery, and Le Français.
If you entered the correctly, the message “You have successfully unlocked the missions” will appear. Start a new game or continue a saved game. Pause the game, and display the “Map Legend” menu. You will see a new envelop legend labeled “Special Mission”. Successfully complete the tutorial and a few missions. You will eventually get a phone call from a distorted voice that sends you on your “predecessor’s tracks”. Go to the envelop map legend location to find an old bus that is now a shack, and continue.
There are rumored to be 8 golden AK-47 guns hidden around the huge map of Far Cry 2. As the linked map shows, here’s one place to get one. Supposedly the Gold AK’s NEVER wear down or jam.
This video shows one golden AK-47 location:
Get the special machetes: Start the game with a connection to Xbox Live. At the main menu, select the Additional Content option. Choose the Exclusive Content selection, then login with your Ubisoft account information or create a new account. After the game connects to the Ubisoft servers to verify your information, the message “Account linking complete! Thank you for linking your Ubisoft account to your Xbox Live Gamertag. Special Machete. Unlock Special Machete” will appear.
This video shows the unlockable machetes:
Then press A to unlock the special machete. The message “The exclusive content was successfully unlocked” will appear. Return to the main menu. Select Options, then select Game. A new Machete Type option will appear. You now have access to the Homemade/Modern and Primitive machetes on the current profile. The machetes are cosmetic and don’t play any differently than the default machete.
