Konami has announced they’ll release a playable demo of the upcoming PES 2009 (AKA Pro Evolution Soccer 2009) game for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC today. The full game is set for release on October 17th in Europe and on November 12th in America on not just Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, but also Wii, PS2 and PSP.

PES 2009 marks the triumphant return of what is regarded as the most realistic soccer title for any format. Users will be treated to an expansive playable demo of the new title, with the bespoke version offering a full five-minute Exhibition multiplayer match.

Players will be able to select fully licensed Manchester United, Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Barcelona club teams, or the licensed Italian or French national sides. The demo will allow users an early taste of the all-new elements set to further bolster PES 2009’s reputation as the definitive soccer game. All new visuals with completely remodeled players and animations, and new physics routines to ensure the ball behaves more realistically have been included, while the AI of the CPU sides has been enhanced to provide an ever evolving challenge.

The PES 2009 demo will also include promotional videos detailing the new game’s ‘Become a Legend’ and online ‘Legends’ modes, which see the player controlling just one player within a team and attempting to forge a career in soccer. Starting as a promising 17-year-old, players must force their way into the first team and produce a series of blistering performances which will ultimately result to a move to one of Europe’s biggest sides. Or, on the flipside, poor performances can see a player struggling in the lower leagues and eventually being released…

Sony has announced the official release date for MotorStorm 2: Pacific Rift in America is October 28th, we can further confirm in Australia it’s November 13th, and in Europe it’s November 14th, 2008.

Americans can go to GameStop to receive a code for access to the retailer-exclusive demo if they pre-order MotorStorm Pacific Rift. In the demo you race against the computer or grab a buddy for some split-screen heart-pounding action on one of the exciting “Air” Tracks. It’s a nice free alternative to buying the latest QORE episode off the PlayStation Network to get your hands on the demo.

The PlayStation Blog gave some more info about the game as well. To quote: “This time around, the MotorStorm races will take place on a tropical island set amongst the lush jungle, emerald lagoons and towering peaks in the Pacific Ocean. Why is this important? The original MotorStorm introduced us to some fantastic racing through the desert landscape of Monument Valley. Although we delivered some wild tracks and terrain, the desert is the desert. With the topical island setting, players will be able to experience a much broader range of environments and terrain.

There are 8 vehicle classes to choose from, including the Monster Truck! For the first time, you and your friends will be able to race head-to-head in the new 4 player split-screen mode for some major racing mayhem. It has been confirmed that a demo of Left 4 Dead will be coming to Xbox 360 and PC, although developer Valve’s co-founder Gabe Newell did not confirm whether or not the demos will be released before the game hits stores on November 21st.

The demo will feature both single-player and online cooperative play and will contain the first part of one of the campaigns. “Will probably be Hospital, but I’m not sure”, Newell told VideoGamer.

Left 4 Dead sets out to do for co-op gaming what Counter-Strike did for team combat. It’s an ambitious survival horror game that runs on the Source engine. In the game four armed survivors of a world overrun with zombies must fight their way out to escape an outbreak.

Designed for co-op play, the four players must work together to finish each stage of the game, lending each other artillery support, sharing ammo and rescuing each other when zombies are on top of them. In addition to the standard four players as humans, another four players can be amongst the masses of assaulting zombies, seeking to take down the other players. Zombie players might even find themselves become one of the four mutant “boss” zombies, who have unique powers that can be used to devastate, injure, tie up, mark and track, confuse, or even humiliate the gun-toting human survivors.
