The Weekly Recap (July 26th – August 1st)

This week, we had very little actual news, so a lot of the submissions are based on rumors, reviews and the Mockers clan. Sorry my post is a little late today, as it’s been a pretty hectic weekend. Went up to Payson Friday evening and my mom was admitted into the hospital yesterday (her diabetes is out of control). In any case, always try to look on the bright side of things. Here’s what we had going on for the week:

Alrighty, that’s 29 entries this week. As far as the ‘Contributor of the Week’ goes, that goes to, once again, Eddie with 8 submissions. Get a life :P . Also of note, besides the QuickNews posted by Tosh on the PS3 Slim model showing up on the German Amazon, nothing was submitted for Saturday, August 1st.

Anyways, here’s hoping we get some juicy info this week, but don’t be surprised if we don’t. A lot of developers and publishers probably won’t release anything newsworthy until TGS next month. Thank you all for checking this out and all that. Remember, if you would like to see what you missed from weeks past, check out the Weekly Recap Archive.

The Weekly Recap (July 19-25)

Well, this week seemed a little slow with the news, netting in 28 submissions. Nothing truly spectacular surfaced this week, so it’s just a little dry. We did manage to find a few things though! Without further ado, here’s what we had going on this week:

Trev – July 25th

Trev – July 25th

Trev – July 25th

As you can see, for the most part, nothing truly amazing. We’ll probably be in this dry news spell until maybe TGS (I hope earlier than that, though, because that’s a ways away).

Also, no surprise here, Eddie has gotten ‘Contributor of the Week’ with 9 entries. Maybe I should start doing ‘Everyone but Eddie Contributor of the Week’ haha! In which case, Trev would win that with 7 submissions. I don’t have a Comment of the Week this week because I hadn’t had the time to look through all the responses and pick one. Haven’t been feeling too hot this week either…

That’s 33 new articles this week! Last week, we had 18. We totally killed that record! Again, these don’t include store updates, last week’s Weekly Recap or QuickNews. As for other things, I give up! Once again, Eddie receives the much sought-after ‘Contributor of the Week’ title with 10 entries. Good job!

Emrah also get’s the ‘Comment of the Week’, only because he made me laugh so hard. It was a comment left in this article, and read:

First see-through nipple I’ve seen on ps3blog.

If you missed it, the picture used in the original posting was borderline inappropriate. You were able to see through the top she was wearing (though barely), revealing, well, the body part mentioned above. It was a good laugh though!

For past Weekly Recaps, you can view the archive here. You know, in case you missed it and/or you want to see what other stories you missed.

The Weekly Recap (July 5-11)

The Weekly Recap
Since we now get a good constant flow of news pouring in daily, I’m going to try to do weekly recaps every Sunday. This one is a bit late, though, so it’s going to be about 3.5 days until I post the news from this week (new idea). I’m not going to include the QuickNews section, since that doesn’t update nearly as often, nor the store updates. I’m aware there is an ‘Archives’ section, but most people only check the front page. Anyways, here goes:

Think of it like a Twitter just for us, or a forum in a way. Hard to explain, head over to to try it out. We could use it to plan game nights, if you want to move the chat from the Live Shoutbox over to the community side you could. Just a FYI only the last 35 comments show in the Shoutbox. Post PS3, PSP, HDTV related stories there if you want. Just some thoughts, you can use it however you wish within reason.

I put the latest posts and comments from the community in the right sidebar of this site. All the posts and comments from the community also get sent to our Twitter feed.

Reminder: The Xbox Domain Community Site/Forum is open

Dark Green logo

Even though things are going on the down low around these parts for a little bit, it doesn’t mean that we can’t still have good conversation. The Xbox Domain forum is still there for all of your thoughts and off topic conversation. I know that a boat load of you have yet to sign up for it who are more comfortable with lurking, so I thought I’d remind you that it’s there for you, the readers. Talk about whatever you like. If you want to argue about what you think is game of the year, what your favorite TV show is, or what better boxers or briefs. Talk about what you like. If you have gameplay videos, music, or pictures you want to share you can do that to. Have fun with it.

Xbox Community Awards now open, Xbox Domain is nominated, Vote Now!

It’s that time of the year folks. It’s the 2007 Xbox Community Awards. As we posted before The Xbox Domain was nominated for “Blog of the Year” and we feel honored just to be in that category with other great sites like Unscripted 360, Aeropause, Gaming Truth, 360style, and Hawty Mcbloggy.

This is the second time we’ve been nominated and we’ve grown ten fold from 2006’s ceremony. I’m not going to sit here and tell you “Vote for us now”! because I’m sure you visit these other fine blogs as well. All I’m saying is vote with your heart and if you feel The Xbox Domain is your blog of the year from the nominee list then please support the cause and drop us a vote.

All you need to do is register a username at Gamertagradio, and start voting. Also, Godfree is giving away some special prizes for people who vote in all categories.

All the links you need are below.

Rumor: Next round of Community "Gamerpics" coming tomorrow?

According to All Games Radio and All Games Interactive host, Scot Rubin, the next round of community gamerpics that were released back in late August on the Xbox Live Marketplace are due for the 5th year anniversary of Xbox Live tomorrow. Letting it slip on All Games Interactive on last Fridays show, All Games Interactive is to be included in the lot to be released.

The Gamercast Network was first in line, but who’s next? If this is true, we’ll find out in the very near future or in a manner of speaking, tomorrow. Just so happen All Games Interactive is one of the many podcast I myself happen to listen to and I don’t recall this being mentioned. Nevertheless, it’s bound to happen someday and Xbox Live is 5ive day sounds like as good a day as any. Don’t you think?
