Tetris Party multiplayer video and Wii Balance Board mode walkthrough

Source: videogamesblogger.com

Tetris Party logoTetris Party is a downloadable WiiWare version of the uber-popular and addictive puzzle game. Featuring online support that allows up to six players from around the world to face off or go at it in two-player co-op on the same playfield. Of course you also get the 15-level traditional single player marathon mode.

There are 18 game modes in all, with 10 never-before-seen single- player and multiplayer variations of Tetris. These include modes that use the unique point-and-shoot capabilities of the Wii Remote, as well as the recently released Wii Balance Board.

If you haven’t played Tetris DS yet, rearranging blocks has never been this exciting in these Tetris multiplayer modes.

Tetris Party producer Tony Tran discusses the miracle of Wii Balance Board controls in WiiWare Tetris.

To be honest, I yawned. All other modes look like great fun, though.

Fable 2’s online co-op to be added later in the launch week

Source: videogamesblogger.com

Pre-order Fable 2 for Xbox 360Here’s a tidbit you might like to know for when you pick up Fable 2 for your Xbox 360 on October 21st, 2008. It turns out that Fable 2’s online co-op won’t be available right away at launch, instead it will be added later in the launch week.

To quote Microsoft’s Gamerscoreblog: “We just got word that while we will be able to play the single player and [full screen] local co-op on day one, they are still making tweaks to the online co-op. […] Lionhead and Microsoft Game Studios are looking to get the update out within the first week of launch in North America.”

No word yet on how this will play out in other regions outside of North America, but I imagine in a similar fashion: a small delay.

See how online co-op works 3:30 minutes into this Fable 2 video, where creator Peter Molyneux explains it.

Watch it to the end if you want to know why Peter says “cheeky bastard!” to his co-op friend. )

Pre-order Saints Row 2 for Xbox 360Aside from an expanded city of Stilwater to play in, Saints Row 2 will let you play both online co-op and competitive multiplayer. The drop-in co-op isn’t a bad place to get one over on a close rival, but the sandbox tools and toys can also give you all the fun dressing up as your favorite person or icon while you’re at it. Check out how the developers tied Saints Row 2 (Xbox 360, PS3) co-op gameplay in with the U.S. presidential election going on right now.

Cops and robbers, pirates and ninjas, Obama and McCain, Stillwater is going to become a heck if a warzone.

It’s simple mathematics. You double the bikinis, you double the fun.

D3Publisher has posted revealing first details of Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers, the upcoming and self-explanatory Wii action game.

The game will “take full advantage of the Wii Remote” for immersive attacks on zombie enemies, offer both single player and two-player cooperative play, as well as several modes and combat mechanics.

And of course, half-naked chicks.

No specific release date has been announced, but if busty zombie exterminators clad in skimpy bikinis and wielding katana blades are your thing, you should be in blood-spilling heaven in early 2009.

Mercenaries 2 developer video walkthrough for co-op gameplay

Source: videogamesblogger.com

World in Flames for Xbox 360As you may know, Mercenaries 2: World in Flames features co-op that allows 2 players to play through the campaign game together online in the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions; the game itself is also coming to PC and PS2 on August 31, 2008. This co-op mode is seamless “drop in drop out”. When a player joins anothers player’s game the player is able to choose which mercenary to play as (but can not be the same as the host). The game does not go to a load screen and start the players off in a new area. Instead the player will join the host no matter what he is doing in his game. Every single misson and activity in the game can be completed in co-op. A 1/2 kilometer tether has been added to keep the players from straying too far away from each other.

Play from the tittle screen to the end credits with your friend by your side. Watch the Zero Rules Co-Op video:

New Resident Evil 5 Partner trailer

Source: videogamesblogger.com

Pre-order Resident Evil 5 for PS3Capcom has just released all-new footage of the Resident Evil 5 scare fest. The survival horror game’s plot will be set 10 years after the events in the first Resident Evil game, this time in Africa, and will concern the origins of the virus. According to Producer Jun Takeuchi, one of the plot’s key elements will revolve around the whereabouts of STARS and main character Chris Redfield’s life after the first Resident Evil game.

The video below will show the advanced lighting effects. The game’s environment will play a significant role. For example, if Redfield suffers prolonged exposure to heat, he will begin to see mirages and hallucinations. Also if Redfield moves between bright and dark areas his eyes will have to adjust, causing the player to briefly lose some visual of their surroundings.

This trailer shows off Chris Redfield’s new female partner (playable in the online co-op mode?).
