Source: videogamesblogger.com

PSP gets Skype
Skype is coming to the Slim & Lite PSP with (for $40) or without (for $25) a USB Microphone peripheral. This microphone can also be used with the PSP language software Talkman. It’ll first be released in late January 2008 in Japan.

Skype has 246 million registered members worldwide, and allows its users to talk to other Skype-users (globally) for free via the internet. The Skype-icon will be added to the Network category of the media crossbar.

By introducing Skype on PSP, the following features and services will be made available to PSP users:
* Free voice calls between Skype users.
* Skype contact list management (view existing contacts, add new ones).
* Skype presence (see which friends are online and available to talk).
* SkypeOut calls to make calls to landlines and mobile phones anywhere in the world (requires the purchase of Skype credit).
* Optional SkypeIn number that lets users receive calls on Skype from landlines and mobiles anywhere in the world (requires the purchase of Skype credit).
* View and modify Skype settings and account details (including username creation, SkypeOut settings, voicemail settings and call forwarding)

PSP GPS System
If you look at Sony’s CES 2008 page, you’ll notice they are also bringing the PSP GPS over to the U.S. To quote the press bit: “Explore the world with GPS on your PSP. Utilizing the GPS peripheral and the latest mapping software on UMD, your PSP will provide 2D/3D locations, driving directions, POI’s, and even downloadable city guides. With an easy search feature and customizable settings, GPS on PSP is the easiest way to navigate new areas and cities.â€?

Glitch of The Day: Floating crates confirmed in Call of Duty 4

Source: thexboxdomain.com

Glitches, I hate them. Glitches can ruin a playing experience but sometimes they’re just down right weird/funny. For example check out You Tuber “Wh33zr“’s video in which you see a floating crate up in the sky. Maybe this is a hint for the next Call of Duty game…

Game Impressions: Call of Duty 4

200336b.jpg

I received my copy of Call of Duty 4(from my local video game store)last night and so far I’m blown away. As a person who was getting tired of the World War 2 premise it’s so refreshing to see Call of Duty now in the modern times. Right from the beginning you can tell how much the graphics have improved since Infinity Ward’s last outing in 2005.

Without giving too much away the first actual mission(after training) was one of the most heart wrenching missions I’ve ever played in a First Person Shooter. The weapons all feel authentic and you can tell that IW put a lot of time and effort into making sure of that. I’m trying to find words to explain how much I’m enjoying Call of Duty 4, but really all I have to say is THIS GAME PWNS!

I’m already up to a Rank 23 on the multiplayer component and I’m having a serious blast with it. The “Perks” system feels totally right at home and is not complicated. I’ve played over thirty matches and I only briefly encountered some lag in one match but so far it’s been “60 Frames per second” of heaven. Infinity Ward was awesome enough to include 16 multiplayer maps at launch and most of them are really good.

If I had to nitpick on something it would have to be on the places your character spawns. Sometimes I’ve spawned right in the middle of a battle and I die repeatedly. Last night I actually died five times in a row from this horrible spawning placement system and it was very annoying.

Well, let me get back to some COD 4. If you love the Call of Duty series don’t worry… the game is great.

Game Releases This Week(Call of Duty 4 baby! Edition)

Source: thexboxdomain.com

200336b.jpg

My favorite game to this day on the Xbox 360 is not Gears of War or Halo 3. My favorite game on this white console of ours is still Call of Duty 2. Sure COD 2 was pretty much lag filled for the first Six months and it had zilch multiplayer options but it was special to me and other people.

Sure it didn’t have vehicles like part 3 but it didn’t matter because the job Infinity Ward did fine tuning that game was awesome. Now the true sequel to Call of Duty 2( I like to pretend that Treyarch’s hot mess of COD 3 never existed) comes in the form of Call of Duty 4 and Infinity Ward is going for the kill against the competition.

While we have Call of Duty 4 releasing, we do have some other titles.

Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War

F.E.A.R Files

Scene It? LCA

Cabela’s Big Game Hunter

What am I picking up? Call of Duty 4 and nothing else. What looks good for you?

Fidel Castro reviews Call of Duty 4? WTF?

Source: thexboxdomain.com

Cuba’s President Fidel Castro has been under the weather for the past couple of years but we now know what he’s been up to. Fidel has been playing the game a lot of you want…. Call of Duty 4.

Check out his review and I say maybe IGN or Gamespot should hire this guy. I like his Cigar rating system.

Call of Duty 4 Multiplayer Footage

Wow, 60 frames multiplayer COD… Talk about drool.  I can’t wait until the Beta comes out so I can play it for real.  The camera and youtube don’t do it justice, but check out the atmospheric smoke coming from the smoke grenades.  Its quickly climbing my list for Game of The Year.
