Army of Two or R6 Vegas 2?

Source: ps3blog.net

I’m in a pickle.

This month I have enough moola to spend on one game. I can buy Army of Two, releasing this week, or I can buy Rainbow Six Vegas 2, due out in the middle of March. I would be buying either of these games primarily for the two player splitscreen co-op modes. I doubt that I would go online with Army of Two, but I might with R6V2, just because I think the game types in R6V2 seem to be more my style. Even then, I doubt that I’d spend much time online there either. (Might as well just pop in CoD4.)

Army of Two is totally built around the co-op experience. And while R6V2 has a co-op mode, it seems like the second is more along for the ride. On the other hand, it looks like R6V2 will probably be a much more polished game with some fun levelling-up to do.

So like I said, I’m in a pickle. Anyone have any thoughts?

More Army of Two

Source: ps3blog.net

Here’s X-Play’s video review of EA’s upcoming Army of Two for the PS3. They note that the parachuting segment that uses the SIXAXIS motion controller wasn’t all that good. Doh! But other than that, they like it.

GameDaily did a review of the 360 version of Army of Two, in case you’re interested. They like it too, give it an 8/10, equivalent to X-Play’s 4 out of 5.

GameRevolver’s Army of Two Review

Source: ps3blog.net

army_of_two.jpg

Army of Two is one of those titles that I thought would go the way of Kane and Lynch. Two totally unlikable characters in a game with many problems. But here’s the second review I’ve seen of Army of Two that gives the game props. GameRevolver scores Army of Two really high in almost every category except Replay Value.

They summarize by saying:

Bottom line, EA has created a game that has captured our manhood, and hearts. This is truly a unique title, that has created a whole new way to play games. With any luck, we will see this one hit trilogy status in the next several years, as I just can’t get enough.

That’s pretty much the gist of the other review I saw, which I now forget the location of. Maybe I’ll just have to pick this one up sooner than I expected…

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed gameplay wrapped into one bundle of joy

Source: thexboxdomain.com

Inside of me the hype I feel for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is slowly reaching a boiling point which hopefully will explode this summer. After so many subpar Star Wars games could this new title be a wonderful next-gen experience wrapped in Star Wars lore?

The only thing that could possibly worry me is could levitating enemies get a bit boring once the novelty has worn off?

New Alone in the Dark 5 Trailer

Source: ps3blog.net

Looks pretty good. I like the look of having the freedom to using items that are part of the environment as weapons and combining objects to make traps.

I’d much prefer some new Resident Evil 5 footage though.

Alone in the Dark 5 Trailer

There’s also an interview from Eurogamer with game Producer, Nour Polloni.

There’s mention of a playable demo on Xbox Live but not the PSN Network. I hope that’s an oversight in that he just forgot to mention a PSN demo exists, rather than a deliberate choice to deny PS3 owners the chance to try the game before it’s release.

Army of Two – Two Man Trailer HD

I’m really hoping that they’ve got the issues with this game ironed out, because I don’t want to subject myself to crap.
