StarOcean 4 for the PS3 unofficially revealed by GameFly

Source: ps3blog.net

When Joystic spoke to a spokesperson at GameFly they replied:

We simply post information as it is supplied to us by the publishers.

SE hasn’t confirmed or denied this news but I have a feeling this is the famed 360-t0-PS3-game the SixthAxis has been teasing us about.

If so, all I have to say is “No thanks, SE. I’m fine without it.”

Aliens vs. Predator trailer shows why it sucks to be human

Source: ps3blog.net

When I played Aliens vs Predator 2 on the PC. I was usually a Predator sporting just a staff and net combo. Unless my prey was being difficult, then I resort to other means, Mwhahah. Hopefully they balance the 3 classes well. So far it’s looks great. This is a must have game for me. I’ll be there day 1.

PS3 Slim Rumors Popping Up Everywhere

Source: ps3blog.net

2crueis

While lots of people tend to still deny the rumor that a PS3 Slim is in the making, it doesn’t stop the rumors from popping up all over. There are many false promises coming out this generation as we all know but every great change in this industry starts out with a rumor that seems false when its presented.

Today on NeoGaf there are 2 individuals who seemingly popped in to spread some information at the same time. The information they have is the same as well but both decline to expel their sources.

They are not the first sources on NeoGaf to say they have trusted sources saying it is in fact true nor the first people in the industry.

I’m not one to jump on forum rumors, but I think there are way of rationing information that is more true then not and I’m leaning towards true for these guys.

Link 1

Ok, somebody i trust confirmed to me that the ps3 slim will be released around september. I can’t give more details.

Also the old ps3 80 Gb will be priced at 300€ in august. But i see that is already known.

Link 2

I’ve received the same information. More details coming before next week.

The 300 € price for the big rig is applying for both the console only and the bundles.

Both of these posters are saying that the price of the slim will not be as low as we want/hope/expect it to be.

Only time can tell now, but I’m 95% certain its on its way. Too many insiders have spilled the beans already.

Wipeout HD Fury Expansion Review

Source: ps3blog.net

Photobucket

Let me get this out there, I dislike racing games in any form or fashion. And I was never open to any other music than rock. But this, has changed my world. And yes, I’m new to the wipeout scene and yet I bought this, I hope that speaks for its own. For 9.99$ you get an abundance of content which was posted, here. I’ll get straight to the point.

Photobucket

Detonator This little beauty here is my favorite game mode among the rest. Why? Its easy. Fun. And gets gets harder as it progresses like the Zone mode. Its like Wipeouts own interpretation of the rail shooter. Targets are scattered all along the track, and players must use the on-ship guns to take them down. The ship can only fire ten bullets at a time, before reloading, so players must remain focused with their aim. A combo system encourages skillful shooting, as ten consecutive successful shots are far more valuable than ten shots alone. However, frugality comes at a terrible cost, as we’ve learned the hard way. Each lap introduces more targets to the track, and those that weren’t destroyed in the first lap become deadly bombs that deal significant damage to your ship. As each race progresses, it becomes increasingly difficult to simply stay alive, as players won’t be able to shoot fast enough, or weave between bombs quickly enough.

Photobucket

Zone Battle The Zone mode was my favorite mode in Wipeout before the expansion. But with Zone Battle, you have to gather up speed, stay not scratched and dodge barriers along the way. It sounds a lot easier than it sounds, trust me. Normally, I just gather up enough speed until i can boost my way to victory.

Photobucket

Eliminator Fun, this is just meant to be fun and not be pretty. If your familiar with the term, Kill. Kill. Kill. Then you know what this mode is all about. But it ain’t about just blowing stuff up with your weapons. Its also about strategically going ahead of all the players until you get your weapon of choice and well, you know what to do from there.

Photobucket

The Soundtrack I haven’t heard such an amazing soundtrack like this since I played Kingdom Hearts. Its turn me to listen to techno, and watch videos of people Deejay.

Presentation They’ve redone the menus, gave 13 new skins for ships, new modes that gorgeous, and made every penny worth it.

So if you own Wipeout HD, and have been wondering whether or not this is worth your money. It is. And if you don’t own Wipeout HD, get it and buy the fury expansion as well, its worth your money.

Rerun of this killzone game

Source: ps3blog.net

At first, it was just me and Blackstaffer. Screwing around, playing with flamethrowers, killing bugs, getting to know the map… Then we had another player come and join in, well that’s about all who came. I’d say that match was moderately fun for 3 players. When we hit the next map, well it didn’t fare too well. It was just plain cat and mouse at this point. When the match switched to assassination, he left. Me and Blackstaffer left the game and I joined his. I’ll be making another game tomorrow, at 10 ea time. Hopefully, I’ll see you there.

PS, for future games for PS3Blog. I’ll be posting them here. Or in the shoutbox.

Infamous Movie In the Works

Infamous has signed a 7 digital deal with screenwriter Sheldon Turner (The Longest Yard remake, Up in the Air). Avi Arad and Ari Arad (The Incredible Hulk, Ironman, Uncharted) will also be producing Infamous.

Sheldon Turner comments on how he is excited and that this is the future of gaming “What excites me the most about the game was it was the first of which I’ve come across that had a big idea and a character arc.” “It is, I believe, the future of gaming. The game, while big and fun, is at its core a love ballad to the underachiever, which is what our hero, Cole McGrath is.”

Uncharted 2 Will NOT Have a Mandatory Install

Source: ps3blog.net

n6uog1.jpg

For those of you who pre-ordered from Best Buy, apparently on the box, it says the game requires at least 1.7GB. Not to worry, though, as Naughty Dog has confirmed that the game will NOT require a HDD install, so those of us who still have the stock hard drive won’t have to worry about another game taking up precious space.

Naughty Dog even posted on their official Twitter account that there is no mandatory installation. According to Arne Meyer (Naughty Dog’s Senior Marketing Manager on NeoGAF), it’s most likely a printing error on SCEA’s part because the required space numbers match that of InFamous.
