Out of the complete King of Fighters XII (KOF XII) cast, only 9 characters have been revealed so far, like Terry and Athena. We thought it was time to list The King of Fighters XII characters below that have been confirmed for the fighting game. It will first be coming to Japanese arcades in late 2008, and SNK Playmore confirmed that it will then be released in North America on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 in early 2009.

3. Benimaru Nikaido (in King of Fighters ‘94 outfit)

8. Leona Heidern (returning from King of Fighters 2003)
9. Terry Bogard (in original Fatal Fury 2 outfit)

The entire game will have new hand drawn 2D sprites on detailed 2D backgrounds. All the sprites used in previous games for over 10 years will be dropped and will be replaced with these new high definition sprites. SNK Overseas Manager Yoshihito Koyama also revealed that the game is going to be “3D [effects] mixed with 2D,” with there being zero cell shading in the game. You can see the new look in video below.
